First time in here this past weekend and we got a lot for $16. The okra here is the best in Portage and priced well. I liked this place and will be back!

There's a super selection of spices, herbs, and tea ingredients here at stellar prices. Not only do they have all the ingredients for ayurvedic tea, they've got fancy DIY tea ingredients like rose petals. La! The layout of the store is somewhat uninviting but the staff is knowledgeable and can help you find what you're looking for. I wish they had a little bit more in the way of fresh produce, but they also have some fresh items in the fridge so if you don't find what you're looking for again I recommend asking (someone had been looking for okra up front when I was most recently there oh, but they had it in the refrigerated section). We're working on eating a more vegetable-based diet, and the bagged Indian meals here are fabulous for putting together a quick veggie meal on a budget. Well throw some rice and the pressure cooker, throw some Samosa in the air fryer, and boil water for one of their $2 meals and wind up with a terrific treat that didn't take much time at all (and the clean-up's easy too). As I've taken on some additional work in the last couple years, this has been a life saver for me. For a while there, they were charging for bags at the counter, but they are no longer doing so. I really need to get better about always remembering to bring my reusable bags either way.

Quintessential Indian grocery store - some fresh veggies and herbs, but mostly packaged goods and frozen foods (including MANY kinds of naan, swoon!). I stocked up on tea, spices, and snack mix. Get ready to spend a while perusing the shelves - so much to look at. If you're vegetarian, there are also many frozen entrees. Spices are very reasonable.

Love this place! Found this about a year after moving here and wish I had found it sooner! It is a small store, easy to miss, in between Walgreens and a liquor store. This is a great place to shop for spices of all kinds. The prices are phenomenal and I only buy my spices, seeds, coconut oil, etc. from here now. The staff is knowledgable and very helpful. I had an indian recipe that required an item I had never heard of and they helped me to find it and recommend how to use it.

A lovely Indian grocery with a HUGE selection of spices for dirt cheap. I was making some Indian-spiced pickles recently. I went to my regular grocery store, bought $40 worth of spices (turmeric, cardamom, star anise, etc, in little bottles with big pricetags), but they didn't have fenugreek. I thought "Huh, what about that spice store on Westnedge? I bet they'll have some." I drove over and couldn't believe what a fool I'd been for buying spices at the grocery store. I got what I presume will be a lifetime supply of fenugreek for, like, $3 or something? Had I done all the morning's spice shopping there, I'd have gotten ten times as much for a quarter of the price. They've also got a great selection of Indian snack food. If you like crunchy and spicy, you'll love 'em. They've also got fresh specialty produce, frozen food, packaged meals, and so on. Service has always been excellent. A clerk always asks if I need help finding anything. I usually like to take my time and browse, but once I accepted the offer. I was asked to pick up some "far far rings" but I didn't know what they were, other than snack food. I asked the clerk and he hadn't heard of them either, but he helped me look through the snack foods. We didn't come up with anything, so I kept on shopping. A minute later, he popped out from around a corner with a bag of ... far far rings! Turns out they're little tapioca starch rings that you deep fry so they puff up, then you salt and spice them, and THEN they're snack food. Now you know. Anyway, I've never had anything but great experiences here, and the money you save on spices makes up for the extra you pay on irresistible snack foods on the way out.
